According to the Vietnam Clean Energy Association, Vietnam is one of the countries with the most sunshine in the world solar radiation map.

On average, total solar radiation in Vietnam ranges from 4.3-5.7 million kWh / m2. In the Central Highlands and South Central provinces, the number of sunny hours is quite high, reaching from 2,000-2,600 hours / year, the average solar radiation of 150kcal / m2 accounts for about 2,000-5,000 hours / year, with estimated potential theory of 43.9 billion TOE (Energy conversion factor).

However, the process of deploying solar projects still faces many difficulties and obstacles.

On a small scale, solar power, especially rooftop solar power, has proved to be advantageous and being used more and more widely. According to information from EVN, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Electricity Company recently put into use the solar power system with a roof capacity of 140 kWp in the Office Building. Thus, on average, the company saves more than 21 million VND in electricity per month.

In addition, many places such as the United Nations Building in Vietnam, the National Conference Center, the Work House of the Ministry of Industry and Trade … have also deployed solar power systems installed on the roof.
